For decades, an unidentified woman known as “Peaches” and a young child known as “Baby Doe” were connected to the Gilgo Beach investigation. Advanced DNA testing eventually identified them as Tanya Denise Jackson and her daughter, Tatiana Marie Dykes—and sent investigators in a very different direction.
In this episode, I break down the discoveries, the DNA and forensic genetic genealogy that finally gave Tanya and Tatiana their names, the investigation that followed, and the pending murder charges.

In 1988, 23-year-old Delores Thompson was found murdered inside her Frederick, Maryland, apartment. The case went cold, but investigators never stopped looking for answers.
Nearly four decades later, a reexamination of evidence collected in 1988 led to a DNA profile and identified Calvin Ziegler — a man who knew Delores and had been interviewed during the original investigation.
This case shows why preserving evidence matters and how advances in forensic technology can provide answers decades later.

Three Arrested 24 Years After Frisco, Texas Murder | Frank Weiss
Frank Weiss was last seen alive on June 2, 2002. Two days later, his body was found near Lewisville Lake in Frisco, Texas.
In 2026, Frisco Police arrested three people on murder warrants connected to his death after reopening the 24-year-old cold case.

After advanced DNA sequencing identified 78-year-old Jacquelyn Cirone, her niece and caregiver, Rebecca Stewart Vaughn, was arrested.
A federal indictment alleges Vaughn hid Cirone’s body and continued drawing more than $75,000 in Social Security and New York City teacher pension benefits.
Rebecca Vaughn is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

For nearly 27 years, she was known as Wilkinsburg Jane Doe.
Her remains were found in June of 1999 inside a vacant home at 604 North Avenue in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. She had been reported missing from the same area just two months earlier.
Now, through advanced DNA testing and forensic genetic genealogy, she has been identified as Genelle Princess Bradford.
Allegheny County Police are asking anyone with information about Genelle Bradford’s death to contact the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

After 37 years, the unidentified homicide victim known as “Castleberry Kate” has been identified as Sonya Alice Langan.
Sonya’s remains were found buried in a vacant lot on Castleberry Lane in Bullhead City, Arizona, in 1989. Investigators determined her death was a homicide after a bullet was recovered from her skull.
Forensic genetic genealogy through the DNA Doe Project helped give Sonya her name back, but her homicide remains unsolved.
Anyone who knew Sonya Langan, or anyone with information about her disappearance or death, is asked to contact the Bullhead City Police Department at 928-763-9200 and ask to speak with detectives.
